SwissTransfer Alternative
A SwissTransfer alternative for when you need more than a free link.
SwissTransfer is genuinely generous: up to 50 GB free, hosted in Switzerland. Send Atlas is for the jobs that outgrow it, with transfers up to 1 TB, delivery receipts, photo previews and your brand on the download page.
How Send Atlas and SwissTransfer differ
SwissTransfer, run by the Swiss host Infomaniak, lets anyone send up to 50 GB for free without registering, with files stored in Switzerland. Files are deleted after 15 days by default; the sender is offered an extension to 30 days by email. Recipients can download files one by one or as a zip, but the “Download all” zip is limited to 10 GB. Send Atlas offers less for free (15 GB with an account), but it’s built for regular client delivery: transfers up to 1 TB, receipts when files are downloaded, previews, branding and a transfer history.

Where Send Atlas is different
Up to 1 TB in one transfer
When a delivery is bigger than 50 GB, such as a feature DCP, a full shoot or a VFX package, Send Atlas Pro sends it as one link instead of several.
Proof it arrived Pro
Get an email the moment your client downloads, so “I never got the file” stops being your problem.
Previews before download Pro
Pick stills for clients to preview in the browser before they pull the whole package down.
Your brand on the download page Pro
Add your logo, colors, and background so clients see your studio, not ours.
History and Active Storage Pro
Every transfer is logged with per-file download tracking, and files stay in 1 TB of Active Storage so you can renew a link instead of re-uploading.
Survives a dropped connection
If your Wi-Fi drops or the cable comes out mid-transfer, Send Atlas pauses, waits, and picks up where it stopped when you’re back online. Nothing restarts from zero.
When SwissTransfer is still the right call
If you only need to send something under 50 GB now and then, SwissTransfer is excellent, free, and probably all you need. It gives you more free capacity than Send Atlas does, password protection at no cost, and Swiss data residency, which matters for some clients. Send Atlas makes sense when you send for a living: files over 50 GB, clients who need a receipt, previews, branded pages, or a history of what you sent and when it was downloaded.
SwissTransfer alternative FAQ
Is SwissTransfer really free up to 50 GB?
Yes. SwissTransfer lets you send up to 50 GB per transfer without creating an account. Send Atlas’s free account sends up to 15 GB, and Pro raises that to 1 TB.
How long does SwissTransfer keep files?
Infomaniak’s help center says files are deleted after 15 days, and the sender is offered an extension to up to 30 days by email. Send Atlas Pro links last up to 30 days and can be renewed while files are in Active Storage.
Can recipients download a large SwissTransfer as one zip?
Only up to 10 GB. Above that, recipients download files one by one. Send Atlas lets recipients download everything at once or as a folder, or pick individual files.
Why pay for Send Atlas if SwissTransfer is free?
For most occasional sends, you don’t need to. Send Atlas Pro is for regular client delivery: transfers up to 1 TB, delivery receipts, photo previews, branding and a transfer history for a flat $14.99/month.
