Festival delivery

Get your film to every festival, and know it landed.

Send screening DCPs, ProRes screeners and press kits to festivals with a link that lasts past their deadline, and a receipt when each festival downloads. One flat price, however many festivals you send to.

Step by step

Delivering to a festival, start to finish

  1. Read the delivery spec

Festivals publish what they want: format (DCP, ProRes, H.264), frame rate, subtitles, file naming and the deadline. Follow it exactly. A screener that ignores the spec can be set aside before anyone presses play.

  2. Check the files before they leave

Play the screener through. For a DCP, run it through the free DCP Verifier: it catches missing files, wrong sizes and naming problems in seconds, then checks every file against its packing-list hash. Do your standards QC in your mastering tool.

  3. Upload everything in one transfer

Drop in the DCP folder, the screener, subtitles and press kit together. Folder structure is kept, and nothing is re-encoded. Pro sends up to 1 TB per transfer.

  4. Add each festival as a recipient

On Pro, every festival gets its own link by email. Set the expiry past the latest deadline, and add a password for an unreleased film, sent separately.

  5. Watch the receipts come in

When a festival downloads, you get a certificate with the time and approximate location. Transfer History shows who has downloaded and who hasn’t, so you know who to chase before the deadline.

Why Send Atlas

Built for sending one film to many places

A receipt from every festival Pro

Each festival gets a personal link, and you get a certificate when each one downloads. No more “did you get it?” emails.

One price, any number of festivals

$14.99 a month flat. No per-gigabyte or per-download charges, so sending to the tenth festival costs the same as the first.

Links that outlast a deadline Pro

Links last up to 30 days and can be renewed, so a late programmer can still pull the film.

Turn off one link, keep the rest Pro

If a festival passes, switch off their link without touching anyone else’s.

Your film stays yours

Encrypted with AES-256 before upload, never scanned and never used to train AI. How security works.

Free DCP verify

When you add a DCP folder, Send Atlas checks its structure before you send. The free DCP Verifier goes further and checks every file against its packing-list hash, before you send and after the festival downloads.

Tell festival staff to download on a computer in Chrome or Edge. Those browsers save large files straight to disk; Safari, Firefox and phones hold the file in memory first, so very large files can’t finish there. Send Atlas doesn’t hold TPN certification, so if a festival or studio requires it, check before you send.

Common questions

Festival delivery FAQ

How do I send my film to a film festival?

Check the festival's delivery spec first (format, deadline and how they want to receive it). Then upload the exact files they asked for, set a link that lasts past their deadline, and send it to the contact in their instructions. A delivery receipt tells you when they downloaded it.

What files do festivals usually ask for?

It varies by festival, so always follow their spec. Common requests are a screening DCP, a ProRes or H.264 file for review, subtitle files, and press materials like stills and a poster. Some ask for a drive instead of a download.

Can I send the same film to several festivals?

Yes. On Pro, add each festival as a recipient on one transfer. Each gets its own link, you get a receipt as each one downloads, and you can turn off one festival's link without affecting the others.

How long should the download link last?

Past the festival's deadline, with a few days of margin. Pro links last up to 30 days and can be renewed, so a festival that downloads late can still get the film.

Should I put a password on a festival screener?

If the film is unreleased, yes. Send the password separately from the link, by a different message or channel, so one forwarded email doesn't expose the film.

Can festival staff download on a laptop?

Yes. Large files download best in Chrome or Edge on a computer, which save straight to disk. Safari, Firefox and phones hold the download in memory first, so very large files can't finish there.
